The attack against cryptofinance platform comes when the industry is recovering from the credit crisis.

Hackers stole at least $570mn in tokens from Binance, the world’s bigest crypto exchange platform, pausing yesterday's operation of the intruded blockchain for about eight hours, the Binance statement said on Friday.

The damage include theft of around two million of the cryptocurrency BNB, and Binance’s own digital token, with a value of around $284 each.

This year hackers, whom many were located in North Korea, stole from crypto industry nearly $2bn to the end of July, a double the total in the first seven months of last year.

According to Binance, its security team and other crypto network operators have steadily been freezing the stolen assets. By Friday afternoon a Binance spokesperson said there was around $100mn of unrecovered funds.

The attack against cryptofinance platform comes when the industry is recovering from the credit crisis that wiped nearly two-thirds off the value of its most high-profile tokens such as bitcoin.
